Have any of you experienced data loss or virtual machine failure in VMware? What virtualization recovery tools do you prefer to use? I would be grateful for tips and recommendations on data recovery in VMware.

When I had problems with VMware, I often used the VMware vSphere Data Protection (VDP) utility. This tool provides backup and restore capabilities for virtual machines. Also useful is Veeam Backup & Replication, which allows you to backup, restore data and even migrate virtual machines.
