Hello everyone! I recently learned that some US colleges have already included esports in the curriculum as part of physical education. This seems a little strange, because we are used to the fact that physical education is a sport where we engage in physical activity. But on the other hand, it is interesting, because esports helps develop strategic thinking, teamwork and concentration. What do you think about this? Can this be useful for teenagers, or is it just a way to justify a sedentary lifestyle?

Hello! As many experts note, esports does have its positive aspects, especially when it comes to developing mental abilities. For example, many US colleges and universities are introducing esports into educational programs in order to improve teamwork, strategic thinking and even improve problem-solving skills. And this is far from just about video games. According to a study published here https://www.virlan.co/esports/how-us-education-includes-esports-in-pe/ , esports in educational institutions also contributes to improving social integration and developing leadership skills in students. Of course, it is important that the training within this program is combined with physical activity to maintain balance and health of students.

I think that esports can be a useful part of the educational program if it is implemented correctly. It is a great way to involve teenagers, especially those who are not particularly interested in traditional sports. Esports develops not only mental but also social skills, as it requires teamwork, communication and constant interaction. Of course, it is important to remember about health, and if esports classes are integrated with physical activity, it can be a great balance for the development of teenagers.
